Beyond Zero Emissions

There is only one fully-costed and fully-engineered plan to reach 100% renewables. A number of people are concerned that both state and federal governments in Australia lack real plans for 100% renewable energy. - Terry McBride

Parramatta Climate Action Network has read and studied the *Beyond Zero Emissions (BZE) planning document and fully endorses the content of it. While it may not be perfect at the moment it's the only plan.

Terry McBride further asserts, "This document is not a report, it is a blueprint for Australia to take action on renewable energy."

Terry was so inspired by it he joined BZE, and now presents the plan to local businesses and community groups.

  •  BZE has developed a fully-costed and fully-engineered plan for NSW to move to renewable energy.

  • This innovative and resourceful plan was fully-researched and put together by volunteer professionals across several fields of expertise. This means the plan was completely put together free from government and business money.

  • BZE in collaboration with the University of Melbourne’s Energy Research Institute sets to make Australia’s stationary energy 100% renewable energy. (essentially 60% solar, 40% wind).

  • This is the first of 5 plans to de-carbonise Australia’s economy. The next four reports are transport, buildings, industrial processes and land-use.

  • The plan proposes 12 large-scale Concentrated Solar Thermal (CST) plants (with salt storage) and 23 wind plants across Australia.

  • It will also drive huge investment ($370 Billion) in renewable energy from financial institutions in the near future. This will create tens of thousands of jobs.

  • It has been endorsed by many luminaries including Robin Batterham, ex-Chief Scientist of Australia, Professor Emeritus Sir Gustav Nossal, former Australian of the Year, Dr Peter Doherty, Nobel Laureate, Bob Carr and Malcolm Turnbull. At the recent Banksia Awards, Matthew Wright, the Executive Director of BZE won the Young Environmentalist of the Year Award and BZE won Mercedes Benz Australian  Environmental Research Award.
