ParraCAN became involved in the 100% Renewable Energy campaign in 2010.
This campaign is being run by the Campaign Coordinator, Lindsay Soutar with the support of Greenpeace. The campaign is nationwide and there are local coordinators who manage campaigns in regions.

Since then we have lobbied both state and federal politicians to support 100% renewable energy and about six of our members went to the Penrith electorate before the Penrith by-election to doorknock people and survey them about 100% renewable energy. We had a very good response with most people supporting the campaign. Two of our members also doorknocked in the Newtown area with Climate Action Newtown.
Our biggest effort in surveying was doorknocking and surveying by ten of our members who doorknocked 350 people in many suburbs in the Parramatta area and surveyed 102 people. The most positive result was that 95% of people surveyed wanted the government to stand up to big polluters and not give in to their scare tactics. 87% agreed that ‘Australia should put a price tag on pollution, so that businesses that continue to pollute are made responsible and those that don't pollute have an incentive to use clean energy’; 89% agreed that ‘the Australian government should develop a plan to move to 100% renewable energy like wind and solar’; and 89% also agreed that 'the government should implement strong policy to support new jobs and investment in renewable energy'.
